John Bosco Institute of Technology (JOBITECH), Ibolo-Obosi is a non-profit Institute run by an international religious congregation in the Roman Catholic Church known as the Salesians of Don Bosco, who are composed of Rev. Fathers and Rev. Brothers.
The Salesians run the Institute following the dream and objective of St John Bosco, who saw the need not just giving fish to the marginalized youth of his time, but to teach them how to fish that is to empower them with technical skills/trade will help them become employable.
He, therefore, educate them with the Preventive System of Education, which consists of 3 pillars; Reason, Religion and Loving-kindness.
In Africa, the Salesians has 110 technical schools spread around the Region and 3 of them are situated in Nigeria (Ondo, Obosi near Onitsha, & Koko).
The Obosi Institute was established in 1992 with five departments; Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Information Technology, Tailoring and Typing according to the need of the time. Currently, the Institute has 3 department; Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Information Technology (CIT).
